Coaches Meeting:   Coaches meetings will not be held at any playing site.  All coaches must read the following Tournament Information & Rules before participating. Please notify tournament director by e-mail if you have any questions.  ldewey29@msn.com Check-In -  COACHES MUST check in prior to the tournament.  You must check in a minimum of 30 minutes before playing time at the Convention Center, coaches must check-in at the TOLTEC Room.  The TOLTEC Room is located outside the playing area at the bottom of the escalator (closest to court 1 in the main hallway.) ROSTERS:  ALL COACHES MUST PROVIDE A CURRENT COPY OF YOUR TEAM’S USAV ROSTER at check in IF your roster has changed from when it was submitted for entry into the tournament. Changes to rosters after the start of each session (8:00am and 2:30pm) will not be accepted. Coaches/Officials Lounge:   Separate lounges will be provided for Coaches and Officials this year.  The officials lounge will be located in the Quapaw room; the Coaches lounge will be located in the CADDO room (both located in the rotunda at the bottom of the Marriott stairs). Daylight Savings Time:  Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:00 AM.  Don’t forget to set your clocks FORWARD  one hour Saturday night so you don’t miss your first match or referee assignment Sunday morning! Location of Courts: Courts  1 – 14 State House Convention Center, 2 State House Plaza, Little Rock, AR 72201 Questions about the Tournament Format: We want all teams to show up at the correct time and place for their matches &/or officiating duties.  If you have questions on reading the tournament schedule feel free to ask at the tournament desk.  Please limit the number of people your team sends up to the tournament desk to a coach or team rep.  Coaches and Club Directors will be responsible for the distribution of the site rules to their players, parents, and supporters. FACILITY RULES FOR ALL SITES Outside Food/Drinks:   No outside food, drinks, coolers, hot plates, crock pots, etc at any playing site.  Coolers and any items that compose a fire hazard will be confiscated by building security.  Teams may not set up food tables inside any venue. SEATING:   Seating is provided at the convention center.  Outide chairs are allowed as long as you do not block aisles or playing paths.  You may be asked to move by tournament staff. *Water and sport drinks only in the court/playing area. *Do not block walkways with personal items, spectators or teams waiting to play. You may be asked to move by tournament staff. *Ball handling in the hallways is prohibited at all times. Facility Admission Fees: $10.00 Per Day ;  $15.00 Weekend Pass. Children 12 and under:  No Charge Sports Trainer: Sports Trainers WILL BE provided.  Teams should provide their own first aid kits. TOURNAMENT RULES All USAV National, Delta Region and Facility rules will be enforced.  No Alcoholic Beverages or Illicit Drugs will be allowed at the Tournament Sites.  All facilities are non-smoking. Each coach must be able to provide a valid, signed medical release form for each player on the team roster.  The tournament site director may ask to see these forms in order to verify that the team is eligible to play in the tournament. Only Impact Certified Adults/Coaches are allowed on the bench and each team must have at least one IMPACT certified coach on the bench at all times. No player may play on more than one team in the tournament. Do not write on pool or bracket wall charts. LIBEROS may serve in one position of rotation each set. 12 and Under teams will have Volleylites and Step-in line available. Disruptive Behavior  -   Coaches, Players, Parents and all spectators  are to exhibit sportsmanlike conduct at all times.    Any conduct considered as disruptive or harassment of the opposing team or the officiating team may result in removal from the playing site. Each Set counts as a win or loss. Set on 90 minute time slots.  If there are two 3 team pools in an age division there may be crossover matches. 4 Team Pool: Best 2 of 3 Sets to 25, win by 2, NO CAP, 3rd Set to 15, win by 2, NO CAP. Each Match counts as a win or loss. 5 Team Pool: Each Match will be 2 Sets to 21, (start at 4 points each), win  by 2, NO CAP.  Each Set counts as a win or loss. Set on 45 minute time  slots No Pursuit Rule at any sites               Warm Up2-4-4. Both teams share the court for 2 minutes of ball handling on the team’s own side of the court. The team that has the first serve has the entire court for 4 minutes. The team that receives first will have the entire court the last 4 minutes. If a team wants to serve, they have to do it during their 4 minutes Protests: The captain must immediately submit any protest.  Only application of the  rules can be filed under protest.  The official will report this action to the Site  Manager.  A call will be made to the Protest Committee for a prompt ruling.   At no time will improper behavior be tolerated.  Match Time: Be prepared to start timed warm-ups immediately after the conclusion of previous match, after a team’s first match of the day.  Scheduled time is match time if not running behind schedule.  Match may be started up to 10 minutes early if all teams involved agree and are ready. Time Penalties: If team doesn’t have 6 players ready to play at match time the first set is defaulted.  If after a 10 minute interval, the team still doesn’t have 6 players ready to play, the 2nd set and match is defaulted.  Allowances are always made for teams engaged playing or officiating in another match. Officiating: Paid up Refs Provided Teams are required to have an officiating crew consisting of: 2 line judges, 1 scorekeeper, 1 Libero tracker, 1 score flipper and 1 down official In Delta Region a certified adult must be at the TABLE Most losing teams will referee the match after theirs, usually on the same court. On Sunday - WINNERS may have to officiate.  Look at bracket closely. Officiating Penalties: Failure to provide the officiating crew (two lines, one scorekeeper, one tracker, one score flipper and down official) for your assigned matches could result in the forfeit of the first game of your next match.  A coach must be present at court site during the entire officiating assignment and is considered part of the officiating crew.  For every minute the officiating crew is late or incomplete, one point will be given to their next opponent (up to 25- 0 forfeit).  The clock starts at match time.  The second offense results in the loss of your next match. Sunday Bracket Play: Two matches guaranteed or equivalent.  Losing teams usually stay on court to ref next match.  In certain brackets winners may be scheduled to Ref losing teams match. Awards: 1st and 2nd place - Individual award for all ages and divisions. Pool Tie-Breaking Procedures  We suggest teams do not leave the court area until you are sure there are no ties in the pool.  You may have to play and/or officiate. All 2-way Ties:   a) Head to Head match result b) Point spread in Head to Head matches c) Point differential for complete pool d) 1 set to 15 All 3-Way Ties will be resolved in the following order: a) Set percentage.  Sets won divided by total sets played. b) Point differential for complete pool. c) If 2 of the teams are still tied at this point use the 2-Way Tie rules.
