Coach Thiago Lopes began coaching with Little Rock Juniors in 2017. Originally from Brazil, a place where volleyball is well known and played at one of it’s highest levels, Coach Lopes is a sport enthusiast. His knowledge of the game has had a great impact on our club at different age levels and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our club. In addition, Coach Lopes is one of the lead coaches in our setter training sessions helping players achieve their full potential in that skill. Don't let his laid back style fool you, this guy knows volleyball!
Coach Lopes is currently in his third season with the Little Rock Trojan women’s volleyball team as an Assistant Coach. His work has primarily been with the team's setters and he has also assisted in recruiting for Little Rock's Team. Under his tutelage, Taylor Lindberg earned a Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week award her senior year (2018) before inking a contract to play professionally in Europe. He came to Little Rock from the University of San Francisco where he was the head coach for the men’s club volleyball team. Coach Lopes helped build the team from the ground up and saw one player earn All-Conference honors while two others received Honorable Mention. At the same time, Coach Lopes was an associate coach for Sláinte Volleyball Club and helped coach 16’s boys and 14’s girl’s teams. Coach Lopes was a volunteer assistant coach for San Francisco’s NCAA women’s team for two seasons and helped with recruiting, scouting, logistics and team camps. He started out as the beach volleyball team’s director of operations in January 2015.
