14 Regional Plus (RED) - Thiago Lopes

     Hometown:  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Coach Thiago Lopes began coaching with Little Rock Juniors in 2017.  Originally from Brazil, a place where volleyball is well known and played at one of it’s highest levels, Coach Lopes is a sport enthusiast.  His knowledge of the game has had a great impact on our club at different age levels and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our club. In addition, Coach Lopes is one of the lead coaches in our setter training sessions helping players achieve their full potential in that skill.  Don't let his laid back style fool you, this guy knows volleyball!

Coach Lopes is currently in his third season with the Little Rock Trojan women’s volleyball team as an Assistant Coach.   His work has primarily been with the team's setters and he has also assisted in recruiting for Little Rock's Team. Under his tutelage, Taylor Lindberg earned a Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week award her senior year (2018) before inking a contract to play professionally in Europe. He came to Little Rock from the University of San Francisco where he was the head coach for the men’s club volleyball team. Coach Lopes helped build the team from the ground up and saw one player earn All-Conference honors while two others received Honorable Mention. At the same time, Coach Lopes was an associate coach for Sláinte Volleyball Club and helped coach 16’s boys and 14’s girl’s teams. Coach Lopes was a volunteer assistant coach for San Francisco’s NCAA women’s team for two seasons and helped with recruiting, scouting, logistics and team camps. He started out as the beach volleyball team’s director of operations in January 2015.


14 Regional Plus (White) - Head Coach - Dalymarie Torres

     Hometown:  Villalba, Puerto Rico

Coach Dalymarie Torres Gonzalez, one of our 14 Regional coaches is a great addition to our club.  She will be coaching a team with her husband Ricky Criado.  Coach Daly started playing volleyball when she was 8 years old. Volleyball is something that she has always loved and her parents were always there to support her. She has played in the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation, in the Puerto Rican’s Pro League, in High school, and in the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. She started playing as a hitter but when she got to college she was selected as a libero.

After participating 4 years in the Intercollegiate Athletics League of Puerto Rico, Coach Daly spent a year as a volleyball assistant coach for the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. For her volleyball was and continues to be one of the best experiences of her life. Every day Coach Daly learns from it and has had the opportunity to meet excellent people. She has a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and works as a legal assistant at Galvis Law Firm in North Little Rock, AR.

14 Regional Plus (White) - Assistant Coach - Ricky Criado

    Hometown:   Villalba, Puerto Rico

Coach Ricky brings tremendous knowledge and experience of the game as he begins his first season with Little Rock Juniors as an assistant coach for 14 Regional White, coaching a team with his wife, Dalymarie Torres.  He grew up playing Table Tennis and volleyball. During high school Coach Ricky played volleyball in regional leagues in Puerto Rico.  After participating 4 years in the Intercollegiate Athletics League in Puerto Rico, he worked with professional elite athletes for 2 years as assistant coach in college, and as a personal coach.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Logistics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and currently working on his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Liberty University in Virginia. Coach Ricky currently works in the United States Air Force, where he is also a volleyball coach.

Fun fact: He is a former table tennis player of the Puerto Rican National team and the 2018-2019 Arkansas State Champion.

14 Regional - Carol Barbosa

     Hometown: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Coach Carol Barbosa began coaching with Little Rock Juniors in 2018 and returns as one of our 14 Regional coaches.  Coach Carol did an outstanding job last season in our 14's division and is looking forward to doing the same this season.  She is a volleyball powerhouse on the court and is ready to share her knowledge of the game with her team.

Coach Carol is a dominant member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock volleyball team. In only two seasons with the Trojans she has earned: Preseason All-Conference Honors, Second team All-Sun Belt Honors and All-Tournament team Honors at the ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL COLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL CLASSIC and the accolades are still coming.

 Prior to Little Rock, Coach Carol attended Navarro College where she received:

  • NJCAA First Team All-American 2017
  • NJCAA Second Team All-American 2017
  • Region XIV North Conference Player of the Year 2017
  • Earned All-Region XIV First Team Honors 2017
  • Region XIV North Conference All-Conference First Team Honors 2017

LRJ 14 Red (League) - Alexis Garner

Hometown:  Batesville, AR

Coach Alexis Garner is a former Little Rock Juniors player and is so excited to be coaching one of our 14's League teams.  She started playing volleyball whenever she was in sixth grade, playing in school and in club volleyball.  Coach Alexis started playing nationally for club starting in 9th grade.  She played college volleyball at Lyon College in her freshman year and beginning of her sophomore year before she decided to leave the team so she could more actively follow Christ.

Coach Alexis is a very passionate person about whatever she does and is highly energetic. She is a loving person and wants everyone to succeed at what they love.  Her coaching philosophy is doing everything right, going all the way, and most importantly having fun while playing the game.  She has experience coaching youth volleyball in the Batesville area and is looking forward to passing on her love of the game to her players.

LRJ 14 White (League) - Janae Thurston

Hometown:  Peculiar, Missouri

Coach Janae Thurston enters her first season as a coach with Little Rock Juniors. Coach Janae has prior coaching experience in youth league and is a freshmen for the Little Rock Volleyball team. Coach Janae played at Raymor Peculiar High School where she was named First Team All-District three times, First Team All-Conference three times and was a MOKAN All-Star player. She also played basketball and ran track. Coach Janae cannot wait for the season to begin and to share her knowledge of the game.
